King Breakfast Bowl
These bowls are inspired by the popular saying "Make a breakfast of a king, lunch of a prince and dinner of a mendicant ...."
Meals rules were very ritualized.
Louis XIV had three meals a day: at 8:30 the royal lunch consisted of bread with wine mixed with water or broth, to 13 hours the dinner and the king's supper was served around 10pm.
The crown of the main gate of the Château de Versailles adorns each of these bowls.
