Our Lady of Paris - Nine centuries of history_FR
A RECONSTITUTION OF THE DIFFERENT AGE OF THE CATHEDRAL, FROM ITS CONSTRUCTION TO OUR DAYS.
At the origin of this book is a laser beam study conducted in 2010 in the cathedral by American academic Andrew Tallon who died in 2018.
The survey of more than one billion data points made it possible to establish the spatial map of the monument with a margin of error of less than 5 mm. At the time of reconstruction, this 3D modeling, of unmatched precision, will be useful to the teams who will be responsible for giving Notre-Dame its splendor.
Masterpiece of Gothic art, Notre-Dame de Paris is a pioneer monument. The innovations that have led to its construction - unheard of lightening structures, unprecedented mastery of stone work, hierarchical space - have immediately made the cathedral a leading architectural reference.
This gigantic construction site was not carried out in a day and has been tirelessly taken over the centuries, modeling and remodeling the building at the whim of the ups and downs of history and the evolution of religious practices. Here are reconstructed by computer-generated images the different faces of Notre-Dame throughout the ages.
