Toile de Jouy 4 seasons Tablerunner
This tablerunner is inspired from a "toile de Jouy" called "LES DELICES DES QUATRE SAISONS" composed of characters and animals and made around 1785 by J.-B. Huet.
The Seasons are represented by different elements:
* a sledge for winter,
* a freedom tree for spring,
* the harvest for summer
* and grape picking for autumn.
This kind of canvas is coming from the Jouy-en-Josas workshop that was created in 1759 and quickly became one of the most important canvas factories in whole France.
